Initially isolated, she encounters a group of women who offer her practical refuge without expectation or interrogation.

In a not-so-distant future, the Earth has fallen victim to a catastrophic event, a severe lack of CO2, the essential gas required for the survival of plant life and, consequently, all other forms of life on the planet. The air has become thin and lifeless resulting in the collapse of plant life, oxygen depletion, and the extinction of many species, and humanity teeters on the brink of extinction.
