In a seedy room in a police safe house, a man recounts the story of the life he has spent trying to outrun.
Told almost entirely through a police interview, a former gang leader recounts the choices that led him from a life of violence to the hope of redemption. Having walked away from the criminal empire he once controlled, he finds a chance at a new beginning with a woman who accepts his past and believes he deserves a better future. But when his former gang discovers he has been seen speaking to the detective now questioning him, they retaliate in the cruellest way possible, murdering the woman he loves.
As his testimony unfolds, the film cuts between the brutality of his former life and the peace he fought to build, revealing a man haunted by guilt, grief, and the consequences of every decision he has made. Through his confession, one question lingers above all else: "Should a man's past change his future, or can he find redemption in his new life, or will he always carry his past with him?" Ultimately, the film is an intimate exploration of redemption, loss, and whether anyone can truly escape the shadows of their past.
